The D.A.V. Business School, in a vibrant collaboration with the Human Resources Society Nepal, successfully concluded the 3rd Edition of the D.A.V. Corporate Futsal Tournament 2026 on August 2nd. The three-day sporting extravaganza, held at the Jawalakhel grounds in Lalitpur from July 31st to August 2nd, served as a premier platform for bridging the gap between industry and academia through the universal language of sport.

With the theme of fostering teamwork, professional networking, and a healthy lifestyle, the tournament witnessed an overwhelming response, featuring 32 corporate teams. The eclectic mix of participants included representatives from commercial banks, insurance companies, trading firms, IT companies, automobile dealers, and manufacturing sectors, turning the event into a true melting pot of Nepal’s corporate landscape.

The competition began with a formal pre-tournament meeting where team captains, managers, and representatives gathered with the organizing committee from D.A.V. Business School. The strategic session concluded with a comprehensive event orientation and a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Rajesh Kumar Chaudhary, the MBA Program Coordinator of DAV Business School.

The action officially kicked off on Friday with a vibrant opening ceremony. The event was graced by key dignitaries, including Mr. Diesh Nath, General Secretary of the Human Resources Society Nepal. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Mr. Anil Kedia, Chairman of D.A.V. Business School. In his address, Mr. Kedia underscored the power of sports in uniting professionals and fostering resilience, setting an inspiring tone for the days ahead.

The tournament structure was highly competitive, featuring 32 league matches followed by 15 high-stakes knockout rounds. The pressure culminated in an electrifying final showdown between Kathmandu Uptayaka Khanepani Limited and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.

In a match that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, Kathmandu Uptayaka Khanepani Limited showcased superior skill and teamwork to clinch the championship title. The runners-up, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, delivered a valiant performance but ultimately fell short against the relentless champions.

The closing ceremony was a grand affair, celebrating the spirit of competition and camaraderie. The victorious Kathmandu Uptayaka Khanepani Limited team walked away with a winners’ cheque of Rs. 1,00,000, along with a prestigious trophy and gold medals. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal was honored for their runner-up finish with a cheque of Rs. 55,000, a trophy, and silver medals.

In a gesture of gratitude, tokens of appreciation were presented to all 32 participating teams, the tournament's sponsors, and the referees, acknowledging their vital contributions to the event’s success.
